RPGS understands the desire to hunt with your own dogs and encourages clients to bring them. However, quail hunting with RPGS dogs at the same time will be determined by your guide after evaluating your dog. These arrangements will be made between you and your guide well in advance of the hunt days to ensure your trip is enjoyable and that you have the best Arizona quail hunting experience possible.
Clients should wake early enough to gather their equipment and eat breakfast on their own. Typically, your guide will pick you up at around 8:00am to transport you or lead you to a quail hunting spot.
Once in the field your guide will prepare the dogs and depart with you and the dogs on your hunt. Hunting will continue until lunch time, which will be dictated by the client (unless otherwise directed by your guide) .
After lunch, hunting will continue in the same area or a new area, dictated by your guide. Hunting will conclude at approximately 4:00pm each evening to allow the birds to covey up before the sun goes down. This protects our bird populations from freezing to death at night. You will then be transported back to your pick-up location or hotel.
Client’s have the option of having birds taken during the hunt, cleaned and returned the following day or that evening. Additionally, if clients would like their birds cooked for lunch on the next hunt day arrangements can be made with your guide.
